You are probably familiar with the saying that there are only 2 things in life that are guaranteed, and they are death and taxes. Well, the theme of our service today is based on something Jesus said about paying taxes: ‘Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s’ he said. But then he followed it up by saying: ‘and render to God the things that are God’s.’ In these words, Jesus laid down a great principle. We have a double citizenship. We are citizens of the nation in which we live, and we are also citizens of the Kingdom of God.
