HOMECOMING by Rev Robert (Bob) Smith

The work of the Church has always been characterised by togetherness: worshiping, singing, sharing Communion, having fellowship and, of course, serving others together.

But for the past 11 months we haven’t been able to do any of those things. Not since the great Spanish ’Flu pandemic of 1919 have churches been forced to close their doors like we’ve had to do.

I remember when Synod told us we had to close down. We thought it might be for a couple of months and were alarmed when experts later predicted things might not return to normal until September.

And now, here we are, almost 12 months later, tentatively trying to ease our way back into the way things used to be.

We also get to hear from Rev Josh McPaul. our new minister, who has sent us a video message.
