STEPPING OUT by Stephen Beazley

The prospect of something going wrong is a powerful incentive for many people to remain where they are even if their current situation imposes challenges and burdens that create unhappiness. Peter's bold move to step out of a boat in a raging storm captures a possibility that stepping out in faith can be a transformative experience even if things seem to go wrong for a moment - Peter doubts and starts to sink.  Jesus reaches out and saves him.  Peter was changed from that moment.  Shall we take a risk for the Lord? Can we dare to do what is right? Can we walk an extra mile - a mile that we need not walk? Jesus bids us "Come!"
