Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount contains some of the most profound things Jesus ever said. We call them the Beatitudes because they all start with the word blessed. The Sermon on the Mount is the nearest thing we have to a manifesto of what Jesus taught and wanted his followers to be and do. You could call it Jesus’ call for a Christian counterculture.
