Prayer for the people

Let us pray

Dear God,

Thank you for being the God who never sleeps.

Thank you for always being here for us, even when we are not always here for you.

Thank you that you are Love and that you want the very best for us.

Thank you for your promises and that you never change.

When we are feeling totally overwhelmed. Please help us.

Help us to rest in the fact that you know what is best for al.

Forgive us for turning away from you and trying to control the outcome in situations in our lives.

The Bible says that you are not the God of confusion but of peace.

Help us to rest in your love and to feel the peace which surpasses all understanding.

Help us to feel your love and comfort.

Help us to be still and know that you are God and that you will take care of us, just like any loving parent takes care of their children.

Your Word says to cast all of our anxiety on you because you care for us.

We turn all of our burdens and concerns over to you.

Please guide our every step and help me to be attentive to your loving direction.

Lord please be with those that are mourning, the loss of Kerry Wolfers, her husband and the family. Please be with them in the difficult days ahead of planning and learning to live life without Kerri.

Lord be with Alison and family as they help Lynn West with her recovery as it is slow process with her rehab, especially with her blood pressure, Lord we pray that it will stabilise so Lyn can become more active,

Lord we continue to lift up those in need of your healing touch, giving thanks to progress already made. Watch over Keith Denham, Jan & Jill Walker, Jill Johnson, Lyne West, Ron & Lyn Batey, Lord let them feel your love and embrace them all with your loving arms and Grace.

We continue to pray for a cure for COVID 19, Lord we pray to enlighten the minds of women and men of medical science who are working to find a solution to this viral infection. Guide their research and help them discover what you provide in creation, sure ways of control, protection, inoculation and healing. Strengthen them in their tiring work and enrich in them the virtue of hope.

Lord pray for the people of Victoria, for the people in the tower blocks as well as everyone who is in lock down. Lord be with the first responders in all situations that they will be facing, and Lord be with their families as well.

Lord we place in your Heart the elderly, the frail, people with disability, children, young people and families, our indigenous peoples, those who are poor, lonely and isolated. As you walk with us, free them from fear, and give them patience and hope together with your loving care.

Let’s join together in

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours. Now and for ever.
Amen.
